The mission of the Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world by proclaiming the good news of God’s grace and by exemplifying Jesus’ command to love God and neighbor, thus seeking the fulfillment of God’s reign and realm in the world.
Pastor’s Dinner will be on Saturday August 13 @ 5:30
Youth Trip to Baltimore
On July 8-10, several of our youth will be traveling to Baltimore, MD, for an inner city mission trip. We will be working and staying with Lovely Lane UMC. Built in 1883, Lovely Lane is the oldest Methodist church in our country! It is an absolutely beautiful building and an amazing opportunity for our youth to stay here. What better way to understand how steadfast God truly is than worshipping in a 133 year old sanctuary that reflects beauty!
Our schedule includes arriving in Baltimore on Friday, working with the missions groupFriday evening & Saturday, attending an Orioles baseball game Saturday evening and worshipping with Lovely Lane UMC Sunday morning before returning home. read more…
Sunday, June 26th, right after church or around 1:00pm we will have our Church-wide picnic at Foster Falls State Park. Please bring a dish to share (remember there are no outlets so it should be something that doesn’t need to be kept warm.) The church will provide the hotdogs.
The Foster Falls Boat and Bike Livery will be open. The livery rents canoes, kayaks, tubes, bikes and safety equipment, and it offers shuttle service, snacks and drinks. Call 276-699-1034 for details.
The Foster Falls Horse Livery provides guided horse rides and will be open also. Call 276-699-2460 for details.
We will have a guided bike ride and cornhole. Or you can just sit, eat and relax. Hope to see you there.

A Thank You From Pastor Don
On behalf of myself and my family, I would like to thank the church for our going away lunch. As the last of the food is cleared from our cabinets, I am reminded of how thoughtful and clever the restaurant gift cards were. Someone understood (or has moved too many times!) how much you go out to eat when your kitchen is packed. It is almost as good as the lasagna we received when we arrived. A special thanks to the quilters. We are already planning a room around the quilt. I would especially like to thank Lily and Grant, for Ian’s gift. It was almost as perfect as your friendship and support. You may not understand what your support has meant (especially this year), but your parents will. However, I think the best gift was Youth Sunday. Every pastor hopes for a Lay led Sunday like that. It was even more special that it was done by our youth.
Thank you for everything.

The second annual campout at Camp Dickenson is scheduled for August 19-21. We have reserved the farmhouse which holds about 20 people but we can accommodate more in other buildings if we need to. Be sure to sign up or let Ginny or Mary Ann know as soon as possible if you plan to go.
If you are available to help with Agape this summer, please let Alison or Sara know.
